Scream And Run controls

Scream And Run controls are five keyboard actions printed on the experience page: Shift to run, tap C to crouch, hold C to crawl, Shift plus C to slide, and F to toggle the flashlight. The experience page has no controller diagram, so the keyboard line is the published set. Bind the five actions before you open a backpack, because the hunter uses the same halls you search. The stills here are locker-hall shots: the title card over lockers, and The Cat in the Hat crouched in that hall.

Run, crouch, crawl, slide

Run is a held Shift. Use it for open floor and for the last stretch to an unlocked exit. Do not hold Shift in a narrow stall while you are still emptying backpacks; speed without a sightline plan is how the crouched hunter in the hall still gets you.

Crouch and crawl share the C key. Tap C to drop into a crouch. Hold C to crawl. The tap is for a doorway. The hold is for a longer dark strip where standing would put your head in a flashlight cone. Slide is the combination: Shift plus C. It is a burst across a lit tile, not a substitute for crawl when you need to stay low for several seconds.

These four movement actions are the only locomotion the experience page publishes. There is no published jump-bind note, no published lean, and no published vault. If a YouTube overlay shows extra keys, they are not on the official five-line list. Keep the published set bound before you join a 50-player server, because the first classroom is not a tutorial room with a pause.

Flashlight on F

F toggles the flashlight. The stills are already dark: locker halls, tunnels, and playgrounds sit near black until a beam hits them. Toggle on to read a backpack, toggle off when the beam would paint you for the hunter. On a lit School round you can leave F off in rooms that already have practical lights. On a No Power round the same toggle is the difference between finding a bag and walking past it.

The flashlight is not a weapon. It does not stun The Cat in the Hat in any published note. It is a read tool. If you keep it on while crossing the locker hall in the crouched-hunter still, you are lighting the same corridor the hunter is already standing in. Short bursts are enough for a bag check.

Pair F with crawl when a hall is both dark and occupied. Crawl to the bag, tap F, take the key, tap F again, crawl out. That sequence uses three of the five published actions and does not require a sixth bind that the page never listed.

When each bind matters

Search rooms: crouch at the door, flashlight on the bag, walk or crawl between desks. Chase: run and slide, then break line of sight instead of turning to face the hunter. Exit: run only after the last lock is open. Hide And Seek and Free Roam still use the same five binds; the page does not publish a second control table for those modes.

Mobile and console players get the same five actions through Roblox's default jump and thumbstick layer, but the experience page only documents the keyboard line. If you are on a phone, treat Shift as sprint, C as the crouch/crawl control Roblox shows, and F as the flashlight button on the right cluster. Do not wait for a studio overlay that has not shipped.

Once the binds are in muscle memory, go back to Escape for the backpack-and-exit order, or to No Power if you are taking the darker badge on the same keys.

Binds in a full clear

A School lit clear uses all five actions. Crawl between desks with F in short bursts. Crouch at locker doors. Slide the last lit tile before a stall. Run only when the exit locks are open. If you skip crawl and live on Shift, the crouched hunter in the hall still gets a standing target.

A Mines clear uses the same five binds on tracks. The train-hunter still is a long sightline. Flashlight bursts to read bags, then darkness, then a slide across open rail. Play Place is a structure: more vertical clutter, same keys. Hide And Seek and Free Roam do not get a sixth bind; they reuse this list.

If a friend sends a screenshot of a custom key overlay, compare it to the five lines above. Shift, C, Shift plus C, and F are the published set. Extra overlay keys are the overlay author's layer, not the experience page. Bind the published five first, then add personal extras only if your client actually fires them. On a 50-player School round you will use crawl more than slide; save slide for the last lit tile before the exit. Flashlight bursts stay short even on lit School, because a held beam still paints you in a locker hall. Practice the tap-C crouch at a doorway once before you open the first backpack.
